Agraulis vanillaehas a wide distribution ranging from the southern United States to South America and can be found throughout the entire state of Florida. Named after the colorful, orange-red fritillary flower, these butterflies have an average wingspan of 2.5-3.8 inches.

Like the Julia and the Zebra Longwing, the Gulf Fritillary will lay its eggs on a variety of vines from the Passionflower family. Suitable hosts include Corkystem Passionvine and Inspiration Passionvine (available in our Plant Shop).
