A native to the tropical Americas, but cultivated throughout for its value as an ornamental and bonsai uses. Podagrica means ‘swollen foot’ which refers to its swollen trunk. It’s incredibly toxic and must be handled with care. Attracts butterflies to its nectar. Also called the Buddha belly plant.
