The butterfly breeding position doesn’t open up that often. Butterfly breeding is a small department that relies heavily on each other to work as a team. You will spend half of your time indoors working in the laboratory and performing your duties while Butterfly World guests observe through the lab windows. The other half is working outdoors in all weather conditions. Cleanliness is a must in this environment.

No experience is necessary and willing to train the right candidate.

Duties of this position include but are not limited to:
• Working with butterflies and their host plants
• Touching and moving caterpillars
• Gluing and hanging pupa for display
• Washing and sanitizing containers using bleach
• Lifting and moving potted plants
• Keeping accurate records of breeding numbers

Butterfly World seeks an EXPERIENCED receptionist for the dual position of Reception/Group Tour Coordinator. This person loves to interact with others, is professional in word and deed and communicates in such a way that others can “hear” the smile in their voice.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Answer incoming calls, answering caller’s inquiries whenever possible
• Redirect calls, when appropriate, to senior staff and other departments
• Take detailed messages and confirm that they are received
• Schedule Group Tour reservations for schools, camps and adult groups through Microsoft Access
• Correspond by phone, email, and fax to complete the reservation process
• Work closely with Guest Relations Managers and prepare paperwork for group check-ins each day
• Help prepare E-newsletter sent to our customers
• Prepare, pack and send online commerce orders
• Update and make changes including stock items for our website using WordPress
• Will be trained in our Gift and Plant Shop to have the knowledge needed to correspond with customers
